Porky’s Revenge

Porky’s Revenge

And now we come to the end of the series, and while Bob Clark was not brought back as the writer / director (big mistake), the pacing and writing are still quite smooth here, even if, like Part 2, the film overall lacks the big laughs of the first entry. Also of note is the cutting of a few characters from the first two film’s ensembles (most notably Mickey The Redneck), and the fact that the ones who do return are obviously starting to get to be a bit long in the tooth to be playing high school students (most notably Pee-Wee and Meat). On the plus side is the much-welcome return of Chuck Mitchell as the villainous Porky, getting a bit more screen time to boot, and having some of the film’s best moments and lines. It’s also interesting to see these characters from a basketball team actually be SEEN playing in basketball games for once. As with the others, the film juggles a number of different subplots, though the sexed-up biology teacher making it with the school guidance counselor lacks the erotic hilarity of Miss Honeywell in the first film. It is nice to see Miss Balbricker get a happy ending to her story though, plus a near love scene she has with one of the kids that’s funny mostly because of the two character’s history in the previous films. Sadly, the still-cute Kaki Hunter (in her last film appearance EVER) is wasted as Wendy, and the film’s final act is too similiar to the ending of the original, but still, a fun way to close out a series which at least remained consistent throughout its run…
